House Sitting in glass house mountains, 4518

Morning light hits the volcanic peaks early here, dictating a slower, nature-focused pace. You might start your day walking the resident dog along the quiet, winding lanes that skirt the base of Mt Ngungun. The air stays cool near the scrub, making it a comfortable time to get exercise before the subtropical heat settles in. Most errands require a car, but a short drive brings you to local pockets where you can grab a coffee or browse weekend produce markets. Living in a house sitter's home means finding a rhythm between quiet indoor chores and the rugged outdoor terrain. After tending to the garden or ensuring the pets are fed, a trek up the nearby hiking trails offers a sense of solitude. While the coastline sits about forty minutes away, the stillness of the mountains provides a different kind of sanctuary. You will find that life revolves around the weather and the shadows moving across the mountainsides.
