Assignment Requirements

Hi there!

We are looking for someone to stay in our house, which is situated on our 2000 acres cattle grazing property in the Araluen Valley. The cows will be grazing in a big open paddock while we go on holiday so will only require checking if desired. The main task will be to feed our 2 dogs, one 15 year old female border collie Maggie and our 1 year old female pet Dingo Alice (whom we rescued from the hills surrounding our property). We also have one cat and lots of plants in and outside which will need watering. There is additional support available from friends and families and we mainly require someone to stay in the house and tend to the pets. The pets don't need walking as they can roam freely on the property. This is a chance to discover undisturbed farm life. 45 k's to next bigger town, Braidwood and 2h to Canberra and 2h to Bateman's Bay.

Suburb Insights
Araluen welcomes you with an unhurried rhythm, where days unfold gently, guided by the valley's contours and the distant sound of the creek. Settling into the home means embracing this quietude, a distinct experience far removed from bustling centres. Daily strolls with your companion animal will lead you along winding country lanes that trace the Araluen Creek or up gentle bush tracks climbing the valley sides. These routes provide ample opportunity for curious noses to explore, while you keep a watchful eye for kangaroos or wallabies, especially at dusk, ensuring safe adventures for your furry charge. The community here forms a closely woven fabric, where neighbours often share a friendly wave or a quick chat on the road. You might find an impromptu notice at the Araluen Hall announcing a local gathering or a small market day, offering a genuine taste of rural connection. Acquiring main groceries and household supplies means a deliberate trip to Braidwood, a journey that quickly becomes a familiar part of the week’s routine. Your own vehicle is essential for navigating these country roads and truly experiencing Araluen life beyond the property gates.
