We have two small, affectionate, senior (14 years old) dogs (a miniature long-haired dachshund and a maltese/toy poodle cross), 6 little cold water fish in a fish tank and a home that needs minding. The dogs don't require more exercise than a slow walk around the block (1 km) or just down to the beach and back (500 metres). They love hanging around the house with people and sleep on their bed in our bedroom. The dachshund requires anti-epilepsy meds at the same time each day so a house sitter with experience caring for older dogs would be most welcome.

Our home is a clean, comfortable, coastal home located approx. 250 metres up a hill from Long Beach on the north shore of Batemans Bay. The house is located in a quiet area and looks out on spotted gums and water views of the bay. Our front deck is a great spot for bird feeding and/or watching. Our home is the perfect spot for a quiet retreat.

There's lots of trails for walks in and around Long Beach. From the house to the end of Long Beach and back is 5km. A perfect morning walk. Or if you're willing to drive Murramarang National Park and the Bingee - Tuross Dreaming Track are favourites for day walks too.

The house is located on a steep block, is built over three levels and is heated by a Nectre Mega wood heater so house sitters need to be active, mobile people able to cope with steps and managing a wood heater.

NBN here is atrocious here. We hot spot with our phones and that works well enough for streaming Netflix etc...

Our dogs aren't keen on small children so we'd prefer a mature single person or couple.
