House Sitting in the gap, 4061

Life in The Gap settles into a rhythmic, leafy pace that suits a quiet house-sitting stint. Mornings usually begin with the sound of birds in the canopy and a slow walk through Mt Coot-tha Reserve. The winding trails provide endless exploration for dogs, offering shaded paths that keep paws cool during the warmer Queensland hours. Following a long trek, a quick trip to a local café on Enoggera Terrace offers a chance to refuel before returning to the sanctuary of a quiet home. The suburb functions as a calm base for those who appreciate nature over city noise. Grocery runs are straightforward, and the proximity to the Brisbane CBD via bus links means you can access the bustle of the city whenever needed, though the pull of the nearby botanical gardens often wins out. Evenings are spent watching the light fade over the hills, maintaining a steady routine of feeding and companionship for the resident pets in a setting that feels deeply disconnected from urban stress.
