House Sitting in darlinghurst, 2010

Morning routines in Darlinghurst begin with the low hum of Victoria Street as sunlight hits the terrace rows. You might start the day by walking a dog toward Fitzroy Gardens or navigating the narrow lanes toward Taylor Square for a quick espresso. The area demands a high level of walking; most errands happen on foot, moving easily between local grocers and small boutiques. Long strolls often head toward the harbor via the nearby walkways, offering a quiet escape from the inner-city density. Evenings settle into a different pace once the rush of commuters fades. Sitting on a balcony or heading to a nearby park provides a sense of connection to the street life without needing a car. While the neighborhood feels dense, the proximity to bus routes and light rail makes leaving the immediate area simple. Caring for a home here feels integrated into this constant motion, where your daily walks double as your primary way of exploring the neighborhood's layered character.
