House sit CASTLEMAINE

Waking in Castlemaine offers a quiet start. Dogs appreciate early strolls along Forest Creek trails, where the path is mostly flat and shaded, or a wander through the historic Botanical Gardens before other visitors arrive. This sets a calm rhythm for the day, easing pets into their routine. Returning, a simple breakfast at home keeps the morning grounded, preparing for a leisurely exploration of the town's offerings. Mid-morning, many locals gather at spots like Das Kaffehaus, which often has water bowls out front. A coffee there provides a chance to observe the town's gentle hum, perhaps with a well-behaved dog settled nearby. On Sundays, the Farmers Market at the train station car park is a chance to pick up fresh produce, with dogs often welcome on leash for a different kind of outing. Afternoons invite longer excursions, perhaps into Kalimna Park, where the bushland paths provide more extensive exercise for dogs and a deeper connection to the local environment. The quiet residential streets make for pleasant evening walks, allowing pets to sniff out the day's last scents before settling in. Evenings centre around the home, a warm space for both sitter and pet, reflecting the town’s unhurried nature. A simple meal, followed by a book, completes a day well-spent.
