Looking for a reliable and trustworthy house sitter to stay in our beautiful house for 10 days in January as we are away on a family holiday. We live on 5 acres looking over a dam, in a stunning bushy location just outside of Woodend in the Macedon Ranges - about 50 mins North West of Melbourne. Lots to see and do in the area, or just soak up the natural environment and the peace and quiet. Woodend is located around 600m above sea level, and so it is usually slightly cooler than Melbourne and a lovely summer climate in a bush location.

Our house has 4 bedrooms and a study, as we have three young children. The main reason we are looking for a house sitter is to take care of our pets - a 5 year old active Cairn Terrier, some fish, and two rabbits - as well as keeping an eye on our 10+ chooks. Our dog is very social, friendly and exuberant - we have an outdoor area fenced off and a dog door allowing her to easily get inside and out whilst restricted to the laundry when we are away from the house and she sleeps in the laundry overnight. Being quite active, she does appreciate a good walk regularly. The rabbits need to be fed and watered each day, and they run free with the chooks in the yard who also need their seed and water topped up. Whilst the pets can cope with a night or two on their own, we do need a sitter who will be at the house on a daily basis across the period.
