We are looking for someone to stay in our beautiful cohttage in Wondecla. We have two large dogs that are relaxed and easy going with people, but do not get on with other dogs or walk off lead. They appreciate a walk and a cuddle, much like most dogs! The property is situated in the heart of Wondecla within 100m of the store, oval and river, 2 minutes drive from Herberton, 20 minutes from Atherton and 1 hr 40 from Cairns. It is an old weatherboard from the mining days, comfortable and characterful but not flash. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a decent amount of space. Wondecla is cooler and drier than the neighbouring tropical areas but within 10km as the crow flies from the rainforest and waterfalls the area is famous for. From our house there are abundant tracks to explore on foot or by bike with lots of wildlife, such as elusive bettongs in the garden and a platypus who lives down at the bridge. We have a few fruit trees and veggies that could use a water if the rains dry up, but are generally not high maintanence. There is some lawn to mow.

A little about us- we are a couple of primary school teachers. We have just had our first child and are planning to go on a roughly 6 month caravanning trip around the country, hence the house sit. We'd be keen to discuss a small charge to cover bills.
