We’re looking for someone to house sit at our beautiful Tasmanian 6 acre property in the Tamar Valley 15 minutes out of Launceston.

You would have the choice between staying in the main house, or our two bedroom cottage. The main house a large two bedroom federation country home with a split system heat pump and a large combustion fireplace for the winter months. The cottage is also cosy and warm with a split system heat pump. The whole property has wonderful views over kanamaluka (Tamar River).

You would need to have your own car.

We had found a sitter for this assignment by advertising it on housesitter.com earlier this year. Unfortunately this arrangement has fallen through and so we are advertising it again.

Tasks include:

- Daily feeding and company for our 8-year-old Labrador, Harley. He’s very gentle and loves people of all ages.

- Caring for our three chooks by letting them out of their coop each morning and letting them back in each evening, topping up their food in the coop, and cleaning out the coop as needed. And collecting their eggs, of course.

- Caring for and eating from our large vegie garden. It does not need much attention during winter, just occasional watering if there’s been no rain, and occasional weeding (though weeds are rather slow growing through winter).

- Picking up our mail
