Ollie, ginger & Bella, tabby, are brother & sister & 19 yrs old.

Assignment Requirements

While on holiday we require:

Our 2 cats, Ollie & Bella to be cared for. Ollie is on Thyroid medication, administered in his food 2x daily, he has no problem with this.

We also have 2 gold fish in a pond, they are fed once daily & the filter cleaned fortnightly.

We also feed the wild birds once daily.

We have indoor plants that need watered & a garden that would require some maintenance over the 11 weeks.

We will continue to pay for the Gardner to mow the lawns & for our housecleaner to clean once a fortnight.

We have a lodger, a 22 yr old male, who would be present in the house for 8 of the 11 weeks we are away. Due to his long work hours & absence from the house, we feel it would be too much to expect him to care for the cats, house & garden.

Morning in Kanwal begins with a wake-up call from our cats for breakfast. Bella usually returns to snuggle up in bed but Ollie loves to check out the garden for a possible intruders to his domain. He then insists on the wild birds being fed followed by the goldfish in the pond. Only then are we allowed to make breakfast for ourselves which, if it’s sunny, we’ll take out to the sunroom to enjoy our coffee, paper & watch the antics of the birds as they jostle for position on the bird feeder. We are fortunate to live near a bus route that’ll take you to Lakehaven Shopping Centre or, in the opposite direction, to Wyong Station to go North to Newcastle or South to Sydney. The local Kanwal shops are within walking distance, so too is Wyong Hospital, 2 medical practices, chemists & an imaging facility. A 10 minute drive will take you to a scenic walking/cycling track along Tuggerah Lake or 15 minutes will get you to beautiful Lakes Beach or the waking/cycling track around Budgewoi Lake. If you like gardening then there is plenty to keep you occupied but if it’s not your thing, just making sure the plants are watered & palm fonds cut up for collection is all that’s required as the lawns will be mowed. The floors & bathrooms will be cleaned by the cleaner once a fortnight taking care of the heavier duties. We are fortunate to have lovely neighbours & they would be happy to help if called upon. Bella, our female cat, is very shy. Preferring to spend most of her time upstairs either on or under the bed, coming out for meals. She’ll loves lying on your chest & purring away. She is such a sweetheart. She has periods when she feels a little bolder & ventures out to the garden for a brief period. Ollie is Mr Personality! Loves to talk, has to be helping in the garden checking every nook & cranny but then insists on having someone sit with him on the couch till he falls asleep. We adopted them when they were 15, they are now 19 & the most affectionate cats I’ve ever had. I’m sure you’ll get to love them as we do.
