The main reason for needing a house sitter is to have an individual or a couple look after our beloved dog. He is super friendly and loves people and playing with most dogs. He has lots of personality and is very affectionate and such a chilled out dog. He loves playing with his toys and always wants you to play with him.

We have a 2 year old Australian Shepherd called Winston. He needs alot of attention, affection, walks and just wants to have people around him all the time so we are looking for sitters that will be able to give him alot of their time and companionship plus take him on daily walks for at least 1-2 hours. Ideally we want someone who is home all day or most of the day or is happy to take Winston out with them.

Exercise

He is a high energy dog so a daily walk or two is necessary. He is very content after a walk and often likes to just hang out with you during the day and takes alot of naps.

Grooming

We don't usually take him to the groomers as we have had bad experiences with them so prefer someone who is happy to home groom him.

He does require regular brushing of his coat every few days to manage his shedding coat and prevent matting. We usually wash him in the shower every 3 weeks or when required to make sure he stays clean and also keep the house clean from muddy paws. There are a few other things we do weekly such as brushing his teeth and checking his claws monthly incase they need to be clipped.

Cleaning

We need house sitters that are clean and tidy and respect our home. We take alot of pride in keeping our home clean and expect the house to be kept clean and damage free. We have Winston inside with us most of the time and he also sleeps inside. As he is a shedding dog, regular vacuuming is required to keep the hair under control. We are also a no shoe household to ensure our floors and rugs stay clean. Winston can get dirty on walks so does need paws rinsed off in the shower and dried before being let loose in the house.

Indoor Plants and Garden

We also have many indoor plants that need to be watered and a few areas of the garden that may need some watering. Mostly just the pots and anything looking a little dry in between rain. Would be great if they could mow the lawn to keep it tidy. It's a small lawn so doesn't take long.

Our House

We own a 3 bedroom home so you will have your own room to stay in. We are a 5 min walk to the Elsternwick train station and tram stop. We are a 10 minute walk down to the Elsternwick dog park and another 10 mins from the park to the Elwood beach. Both of which Winston loves. He loves a good swim at the beach! We have the local Glen Huntly road shops and supermarket only 10 mins away so everything is very convenient.
