Billabong Views is a 47 acre property that backs onto the beautiful Burnett River. We have a "Billabong" and 2 other dams on our property that are filled with wildlife. You can walk to the river or just rest in the peaceful surrounds of the gardens.
Our house is an old Queenslander (approximately 60 years old) that is currently being renovated by us (it's devoted owners). We are hoping to give the old girl new life after being slightly neglected prior to our purchase.
We currently do not have any "farm animals" but have plenty of "domestic" ones for you to enjoy. We have a friendly possum that loves apples and sweet potatoes and will come most nights to see what is on offer. Oh and we have do have 5 chooks that have a very large yard to scratch around in and are probably the most "low maintenance" animals we have!
As our property is 30 minutes from the nearest shop we would recommend bringing ample food / drinks for the whole stay. If you do need anything, it is a pretty drive along country road to town, you just need to watch for Kangaroos, apparently they don't know the road rules!
All linen and animal food will be provided.

Now this here is Pinky. She is 4th generation Common Brushtail Possum who likes to visit late afternoon / early evenings. Pinky is the 4th baby that we have seen raised at our property by her mum and is tame enough that we feed her by hand. She loves sweet potato and grapes and you can even give her a gentle pat. Sometimes her mum will come as well and you can also pat and hand feed her. Remembering these are still wild animals and care around children is always paramount.
This is Mooch. She is 4 years old and is a very loving cat who will happily sit on your lap.
This is Max. He is the same age as Honey and they were rescued a week apart. Max is a big boy with a big "meow" and a bossy personality. Max is a big fluff ball who loves a cuddle and smooch but sometimes stirs up the other cats. Max loves the outdoors and likes to check on the chickens every morning, just to make sure they are all there.
This is Ollie, he is our old boy. Ollie is a 16 year old male who loves a pat and will sit on your lap if he feels the need. Most of the time he lives on top of the dryer but will always welcome a pat when you go downstairs.
This here is our newest addition to the family, meet Mimi. Mimi is a 4 month old purebred Ragdoll who is a bundle of energy, but loves cuddles too. Mimi and Lola are best friends and like to play together (even though Lola gets a bit rough sometimes). The other cats are still getting used to Mimi but she doesn't let that bother her. Being a kitten she thinks everyone is her friend. Mimi can be a bit shy when she first meets you, but give her an hour and she is all up for cuddles and playtime. Oh and this kitten can eat! She eats like every meal is her last!
This is Honey. She is just over a year old and is a bit skiddish but friendly once she gets to know you. We think something happened to her as a kitten as she doesn't liked to be pat on the head (unless it's under the chin).
This here is Izzy. Izzy is a 7 year old female who likes to live in our bathroom and doesn't like to share her space with any of the other animals. Izzy likes to rub up against her human friends but will hiss at everything that is not human. Yet she will eat with the other cats (go figure)! I know black cats have a bad wrap but Izzy is just beautiful.
If you are a dog lover, you will love this old boy! Jetty is an 11 year old retired greyhound who has lived with us since his retirement at 3 years old. Jetty is the most placid, friendly, easy going dog you will ever meet. Don't let his giant size fool you, he is a big softy who will get in your face for a pat or lean up against you for a back scratch. Jetty loves a swim in the billabong (a few times a day when the temperature is above 25) or a walk around the paddock. Even though Jetty looks a bit goofy with his front teeth protruding, you will fall in love with him and never look back.
Meet Lola, our feisty little Miniature Dachschund. Lola is only 5 months old and already runs the house. She is an energetic little food munching machine who has the best puppy eyes you will ever see. Lola loves a swim in the Billabong, playing with her friend Mimi or following her big brother Jetty around the yard. If you have ever seen the movie "Milo and Otis" that is our dogs. Don't get me wrong, Lola can be needy - she likes to be where you are, everything you eat she wants to eat too, and sometimes has little accidents inside (woops). But when she gives you the "side eye" any naughty things are forgiven.
Our View Garden is exactly that. Sitting here you look towards the Billabong and Swing Garden with hops growing on your left and open paddocks on your right. Lorikeets and Parrots love our Silky Oak trees when in flower.

Our Swing Garden is the most tranquil place to sit and ponder the worries of the world. This seat is in shade all day and is the perfect spot on a hot summers day.

View of our Billabong. This is the perfect spot to sit in the mornings for a coffee or in the afternoon with a cold drink. Our Billabong is stocked with turtles and fish and our dogs love a dip in the cool water on a hot summers day.
