Assignment Requirements

Comet is a corgi - mainly an indoor dog due to his environmental allergies. He should not be taken for walks outside the property. He can have short, supervised play and toilet breaks in the backyard, usually around 15–20 minutes at a time, and his paws need to be wiped each time he comes back inside.

He is fed twice a day and takes daily oral medication. The tablet needs to be given directly by mouth, and you will need to make sure he has swallowed it and does not spit it out. I will show you exactly how I give his medication and provide clear written instructions before I leave.

Comet is used to having a toilet break during the day, so ideally he should not be left alone for more than around 4–5 hours at a time.

He also needs a bath once a week as part of his skin-care routine. I will provide everything needed and show you how I normally bathe him.

Please keep an eye on his paws and let me know if he is licking excessively or if his skin becomes noticeably red or irritated.

During the sit, he may need to be taken to his veterinary clinic for a scheduled allergy immunotherapy injection. You will not be expected to administer the injection yourself.

He is friendly, affectionate and generally easy to care for once you are familiar with his routine.

The backyard lawn may also need mowing occasionally during the stay.
