House Sitting in southern

House sitting and pet care in Southern, Tasmania—whether you are in the city centre, inner suburbs, or the wider area.

Lifestyle Guide

Embrace the unhurried rhythm of Southern Tasmania mornings. A crisp sunrise often signals the start for a leash-led stroll along the Derwent River foreshore, the air carrying a hint of eucalypt and sea salt. For more adventurous paws, the lower slopes of kunanyi/Mount Wellington offer accessible segments of the Pipeline Track, a gentle grade perfect for a dog's morning exercise before the day truly begins. Back at your temporary home, the quiet allows for a relaxed breakfast, perhaps with fresh local bread, savouring the stillness before any obligations. Midday often invites exploration. Many dog-friendly cafés in Battery Point or Kingston feature outdoor seating, providing a comfortable spot for a coffee while your canine companion rests nearby. The afternoon might call for a drive to a quieter stretch of coastline like Blackmans Bay, where regulated off-leash times allow for joyful runs by the water's edge, the sand cool underfoot. Remember to check local signage for specific times and areas to ensure a respectful visit. As dusk approaches, the region encourages a gentle winding down. Perhaps a quick trip to a local produce market for ingredients, embracing the seasonal bounty. The home becomes a peaceful sanctuary; a place to unwind, read by a window, or simply enjoy the quiet companionship of your charge. This Southern Tasmanian lifestyle, woven around consistent pet care and a calm domestic pace, allows you to truly settle into the rhythm of this unique island corner.

I am building my house so this is only suitable for people with their own caravan or van. There is water and power. My four donkeys need their ears and bottoms scratched while I'm away. My land is 11.5 acres of private bush and paddock. Lots of native wildlife. It's off the road so very quiet. Beaches and bush walks ten minutes away. Just over an hour to Hobart and nearest post office and shops ten minutes away.

Tabitha needs feeding twice a day. She is an indoor cat and uses a litter tray. She's a lap cat so I'm looking for someone who is at least around in the evenings to keep her company. We've got a house on 10 very private acres in the hills above Franklin in the Huon Valley. We have 2 pretty active German Short Haired Pointers and 3 miniature goats. Aside from feeding and walking the dogs and feeding the goats, our place is pretty straightforward to look after. The house is warm and cosy with a wood fire and reverse cycle heating. We're only 15 minutes to Huonville and about 40 to Hobart. Franklin is a beautiful village with a pub, cafes and a fascinating history and ...
