House Sitting in katoomba, 2780

Managing a home in Katoomba requires adapting to the mountain rhythm and its steep, winding terrain. Most daily errands revolve around the Katoomba village strip, where grocers and pharmacies are clustered within walking distance of the main railway station. If you are looking after dogs, the nearby Blue Mountains National Park offers immediate access to countless trailhead entries, making long morning walks easy. Using the train link provides a reliable way to reach Sydney or smaller mountain villages without relying on a car, though local buses serve the main arteries well. Supplies are readily available at the local supermarkets, though the pace of life slows significantly once the afternoon mist rolls in. Navigating the hills can be strenuous, so plan your supply runs to minimize heavy lifting between the shops and the house. When the weather turns cold, staying indoors with pets becomes the primary activity. Relying on local walking routes for exercise keeps the routine predictable while you maintain the property.
