House Sitting in waterloo, 2017

Life in Waterloo moves at a steady, rhythmic pace that favors long mornings and quiet afternoons. You will likely find yourself wandering down Bourke Street, where independent coffee shops serve as the neighborhood's living rooms. Early weekend trips to the nearby Carriageworks Farmers Market offer a chance to stock the pantry with local produce, making it easy to prepare slow meals while settling into a new home. When your pet needs a stretch, the leafy stretches of nearby parklands provide calm walking routes away from the inner-city rush. The suburb feels lived-in and authentic rather than polished. You can spend an afternoon browsing small galleries or simply watching the light change over the industrial-turned-residential architecture. Transport links are straightforward, allowing for quick trips toward the city or out toward the coast if you feel the urge for salt air. Caring for a home here feels like participating in a gentle, local routine of slow strolls and neighbourhood observations.
