House sit Newtown

Newtown’s quiet, tree-lined streets offer a calm backdrop for house sitting, making it easy to settle into a comfortable pet care routine. Mornings often involve a stroll towards the Barwon River, where extensive walking paths provide a serene setting for dog walks, offering long stretches of fresh air. Evenings might see a shorter amble through a local green space like Queens Park, allowing your charges to stretch their legs before dusk. The area’s gentle pace means less urban rush and more room for peaceful daily rhythms. A short walk from many homes brings you to Pakington Street’s cafes, perfect for a break before returning to duties, and local supermarkets are conveniently close for provisions. Weekends invite broader exploration. Beyond the immediate river trails, Geelong’s iconic Eastern Beach is a pleasant cycle or brief drive away for a change of coastal scenery. Saturdays often present the opportunity to visit a local farmers market, frequently found near the Geelong Showgrounds, providing fresh produce and a feel for the region’s offerings. For a further adventure, a drive south to Torquay’s surf beaches offers a distinct change of pace, with you returning to Newtown’s quiet residential streets by evening. While local buses connect parts of the suburb, a car provides freedom for these longer coastal trips or accessing more remote sections of the Barwon River trails. This blend of accessible amenities and natural escapes allows for a well-rounded and engaging stay.
