House & Pet Sitting – East Ballina

I am looking for a responsible, caring and reliable house/pet sitter to stay in my home and care for my 8-month-old Kelpie × Blue Heeler, Indie, while I am away.

Indie is an affectionate, energetic young dog who thrives on company, attention, exercise and ongoing training. Her sitter will need to genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and be committed to providing her with a safe, loving and stimulating environment.

🐶 Care for Indie

Provide love, companionship and affection throughout the stay.

Ideally be home with Indie for the majority of the day.

Two walks every day are required, with additional walks where appropriate.

Beach walks are encouraged when suitable and safe.

Continue Indie’s ongoing training and boundaries in accordance with my instructions.

Reinforce her recall, lead manners, calm greetings and appropriate behaviour around people and other dogs.

Provide meals, fresh water and general daily care as instructed.

Ensure Indie is not left alone for extended periods.

Keep Indie safe and secure, particularly around doors, gates and the property.

🏡 Care of my home

Treat my home with the same care and respect you would your own.

Keep the house clean and tidy and leave everything as you found it.

Water indoor and outdoor plants as required.

Follow any specific instructions provided regarding the house, garden and pool.

Pool available for use during your stay.

Ensure the property is secure when leaving.

👤 About the sitter I am looking for

My preference would be for someone who:

Is not working full-time during the stay, or works remotely/flexibly, so they can maximise time with Indie.

Loves dogs and is comfortable with an energetic young dog.

Is active and enjoys walking.

Is confident continuing basic dog training and maintaining consistent boundaries.

Is responsible, trustworthy, clean and respectful of someone else's home.

Is comfortable with a young dog who is still learning and developing her manners.

Understands that this is primarily a pet-sitting role, with accommodation provided as part of the arrangement.

🏠 Important property information

There is a separate studio/tenant on the property. The tenant has their own private space, so the sitter needs to be respectful of their privacy and considerate of having another person living onsite.

The sitter will have use of the main house and pool.

A meet-and-greet with Indie and the owner prior to confirming the arrangement would be preferred.

The ideal person would be someone who enjoys having a dog as company, likes an active lifestyle and would genuinely enjoy spending their days with Indie rather than simply using the house as a place to stay.

I am looking for someone who will treat Indie as their own dog for the duration of the stay, while following the routines, training and instructions I provide.
