Requirements

The house is set on an acreage block 10km out of town on a bitumen road. There are quite extensive gardens but at that time of year there will not be anything to do in the flower gardens. We have vege gardens which may need watering and, of course, picking, and we also have a small aquaponics system so there may be fish to feed. And 6 chooks for eggs. No other pets but Doug feeds the native birds and gold fish in the water features. There are fruit and nut trees and you are welcome to the produce in season. Mail is only 3 times a week and mobile coverage is patchy. You are welcome to share the landline which is on approx. $50 month plan. We have NBN via a satellite on the roof ($40 approx. plan) which is reliable but slow. The house is solar that feeds into the grid, and as we cannot get a meter reader out here in between regular visits, we thought that if you are prepared to pay the same as our bill last year that should be fair but this is negotiable. There is solar hot water and a modern electric kitchen. We are of course on tank water so you just need to be mindful of water use. The house is large and comfy and we can offer a good quality queen bed and your own bathroom. Monto is a small town but with our own hospital and doctors, IGA and Foodworks supermarkets, pharmacy and general shops. National parks such as Cania and Kalpowar are not far away for bush walking and fishing and there are golf, bowls, lapidary and other art and craft clubs. We are approx. 150-160 km from both Bundaberg and Gladstone and 100km from Biloela so larger shops are not far away.
