Assignment Requirements

We’re looking for a mature, caring and reliable non-smoking, clean and tidy couple to look after our home and our beautiful 13-year-old English Staffy, Max, while we are away.

We currently have two house-sitting periods available:

23 September to 13 October

22 December to 30 January

We are happy to hear from people who are available for either stay or both.

We live on the canals in beautiful Port Macquarie, in a lovely, convenient location close to everything. There are beautiful walks right outside our door, you can fish from our jetty, and we’re within walking distance of Settlement City, with shops, cafés and everything you need close by. It’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy everything Port Macquarie has to offer.

Max is a gorgeous older boy who absolutely loves people and being part of the family. He is happiest when he has someone nearby to keep him company, give him plenty of love and, of course, lots of cuddles and attention.

Because Max loves company, we are looking for someone who will be home for a good part of the day and around most evenings and nights, rather than someone who will be out for long periods.

Max has arthritis, so he enjoys gentle walks morning and evening and takes life at a slightly slower pace these days. We’d love someone who is comfortable caring for an older dog and will give him the extra love and attention he deserves.

As well as looking after Max, we’d ask you to water our plants and generally look after our home while we’re away.

We’d ideally love to find a mature, caring person or couple who genuinely loves dogs and would enjoy having an affectionate Staffy for company for a few weeks.

Most importantly, we want to go away knowing that Max is happy, loved and has someone around to keep him company in his own home. ❤️
