Requirements

We are a family of three seeking a house/dog sitter.

Our house is a 3BR 1BA brick house facing the reserve at the end of a cul-de-sac. The beds are comfy with loads of pillows and blankets to choose from, and include one double/full, one queen, and one twin (upper bunk). New split system reverse cycle air conditioning/heating units are in the lounge and all three bedrooms, and the house is well insulated. There is a washer and dryer in the kitchen area as well as a dishwasher. On your arrival, you will find that the whole house has just been mopped, vacuumed and scrubbed by the cleaner, the linens washed and changed and the dogs recently groomed so you can settle into a fresh and welcoming space.

It is a very private property with the house set back from the street front, with an encircling garden and a large covered deck. The property is fully fenced and great for dogs. The garden is very well planted with mature trees and the gardens are on a timed watering system that you do not have to monitor. The neighbourhood is safe and peaceful, and there are security shutters on the windows facing the reserve for an added sense of security.

You can bring your dogs as long as they are house trained and get along with other dogs (no cats please, I am allergic). Our dogs are Rudy, a 7-year-old male standard Groodle (Poodle x Golden Retriever), and TJ, a 4-year-old male standard Labradoodle (Poodle x Labrador). They are loving and playful, enjoy a daily walk on the reserve (but are also fine to skip a day) and spend time wrestling with each other on the deck and the couch. There is an also an axolotl (salamander) in a tank in our sons bedroom. She is extremely low maintenance, just needs one spoonful of food a couple times a week.

Stirling is a desirable and leafy suburb on the South side of Canberra, in the Weston Creek neighbourhood. It is easily accessible for Canberra's CBD via close local bus lines that connect to the express buses, and good shops are close by at Cooleman Court. We love it here as we are surrounded by green nature spaces, ovals and lovely neighbours. Our house is very comfortable and cozy and feels like a little oasis. You are sure to feel at home in Canberra while living here.
