Our lovely home is located in Geelong, South of Melbourne, in a quiet residential street. It is close to the big city, as well as some stunning beaches and the famous Great Ocean Road. A shopping center and a running track are just around the corner. The house is a cosy, warm brick veneer dwelling with central heating, wooden floors and big double-glazed windows to let in the light. The guest room has a comfortable bed and a big desk (see photos). We don't own a TV, but access to Netflix etc. can be arranged and there are plenty of books. The kitchen is modern and has all the usual appliances such as a dishwasher, gas stove, oven, microwave, kettle. The property has a lovely garden and whoever looks after the place will be welcome to help themselves to fresh veggies and lemons. Our five doves live in the living room, a couple of them without a cage as we prefer them to be free and they are very friendly, tame and clean.

The doves require fresh water and seed daily. Every couple of days, they need some finely chopped fresh food (fruit & veg), and a bath (shallow dish with clean water). The cage needs some cleaning approximately once a week. It helps to sweep the floor in the living room once a day because of scattered seed etc. Our four chickens live in a pen in the garden. They have big feeders and drinkers, so they don’t require maintenance every single day. It's important to check regularly if the feeders are still full and the water is clean. We usually clean their coop daily when we collect the eggs. It's like cleaning a cat litter box, with the same type of small scoop. Their bedding is wood shavings. They have an automatic coop door, so closing them in at night and letting them out in the morning is not necessary. The house plants need to be watered once a week.
