Assignment Requirements

loverly home in quiet street backing onto reserve, walking distance to shops, beaches and pubs

Main reason for housesitting to be at home with my 2 very friendly dogs, keeping them company, walking them daily, love on and keep safe till I return and to look after the plants and feed the local bird's and the goldfish

About the dogs

Baxter, Dachshund very easy going, just loves attention and the sun

Ted..loves lots of attention, he is a labradoodle and VERY attached to me, he can fret for me but does not take long to transfer all his love onto you. As long as you are experienced with dogs and love them you will be fine.

Both dogs enjoy walks

Baxter loves people but MUST be on a short leash when you go past dogs or he will snap at them regardless of their size- in his mind he is a pit bull terrier and must snap at any other dog. Ted is easy going and loves dog and humans alike

Birds get fed daily as do the goldfish that live in a pond in the garden

They are used to running with me and all have their spot as I run, I run with a friend, they don’t trip us up they all stay in their spots.

Kayak available to use

Birds get fed daily as do the 4 goldfish

Suburb Insights
Your mornings in Port Macquarie often begin with the sounds of lorikeets, setting a relaxed rhythm for the day. Taking the resident dog for its walk might mean a sunrise stroll along the coastal path from Town Beach towards Flynns, letting the sea air invigorate both of you. Many locals embrace this early activity, before the sun climbs too high. Consider grabbing a coffee from a spot on Clarence Street afterward, where the morning buzz is gentle, not frantic. Later in the day, Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park offers shaded paths for a cooler afternoon walk, ideal for a shorter pet outing or a quiet moment. Supermarkets are straightforward to navigate, and the local pace means errands rarely feel rushed. Remember to check local regulations for off-leash areas; Shelly Beach permits dogs on its northern stretch at certain times, offering a different coastal experience. Weekends open up further explorations. A drive up to Dooragan National Park provides rewarding views, though pets aren't permitted on all specific walking trails, so plan accordingly if leaving a pet home. The monthly foreshore markets near the Glasshouse are a pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning, picking up local produce or handmade items, before returning to your temporary home.
