Sorry for the short notice but my prior arrangements have just fallen through. Hopefully someone’s still looking for a Christmas holiday house on the Sunshine Coast! I can be a little bit flexible with departure to accommodate.

I’m looking for a house minder/dog sitter for my two nine year old border collies (one cross lab) over the Christmas holidays.

The house is a beautiful, airy, modern beach house in Golden Beach, just 300m from the water and only a kilometre or so from the bright lights of Caloundra. There’s also a large spa in the backyard to relax and unwind.

It’s a two bedroom house and you will have one room with a private ensuite. I do have a mature female flatmate who will be in the house some of the time. She’s a nurse who often work double shifts and stays over at the hospital. She only uses the kitchen and laundry occasionally and mostly stays in her room if she’s home. You’ll hardly ever see her.

The dogs are happy, friendly and generally well behaved. They can walk daily or every two days, whatever suits you. They’ve been having some ear issues and may require medication and occasional medicated washes (we have a vet appt on Friday). Due to this, beach walks will be off the agenda. But the Esplanade is a lovely place to walk and there’s also a bush reserve nearby that’s very peaceful.

House wise there’s not much to do other than clean up after yourself and pick up dog hair. Summer shedding is relentless!

Outside there’s no lawn to mow but it would be great if you could keep an eye on the weeds in the garden, as these can cause contact allergies for the dogs. The gardener is coming on Friday for a good go over, so it’s just a case of getting on top of anything that springs back.
