House sit Gruyere

The Gruyere morning unfurls with a gentle quiet, often mist-kissed over the vineyards. Sunlight filters through gum leaves as you step out for an early walk with your charge. Quiet country lanes, with little vehicle traffic, are your paths here. The air carries the scent of eucalyptus and damp earth. A morning stroll is a simple loop past a neighbour's vineyard or a stretch of untouched bushland, perfect for a dog's morning constitutional. Keep an eye out for wallabies. Midday offers a slower pace. Local provisions require a short drive; Healesville's main street or Yarra Glen provide groceries and a handful of casual cafes. A trip to the bakery might include picking up a treat for a well-behaved pet back home. Afternoons are often best spent on the property, enjoying the garden, or reading on the verandah while pets nap nearby. The soundscape is primarily birdsong and the occasional distant tractor. As dusk settles, take another unhurried walk along the property perimeter, perhaps catching the last light on the distant ranges. This is a place to embrace stillness. Evenings are for quiet domesticity, cooking in a well-appointed kitchen, and the companionship of the pets entrusted to your care. The stars are bright here, unobscured by city glow. Public transport is non-existent, so your vehicle is essential for all excursions beyond the immediate vicinity.
