House sit CARLISLE RIVER

**Carlisle River, South-West Victoria**

I’ve had an unexpected opportunity arise that requires me to travel overseas at fairly short notice, and I’m looking for a reliable individual or couple to look after my rural property in the beautiful Otway Ranges.

The sit will be for **approximately 6 - 8 weeks**, with the possibility of some flexibility around the exact dates.

The property is peaceful, private and surrounded by forest and farmland. It would particularly suit someone who genuinely enjoys nature, quiet rural living and being away from the city.

### THE PROPERTY###

This is an **off-grid rural property**, so I'm looking for someone who is practical, responsible and comfortable with this style of living.

Everything is established and functioning, but there are a few simple systems that need to be understood and kept an eye on. I will provide a thorough handover before leaving.

Accommodation is provided on the property.

### WHAT I NEED LOOKED AFTER###

The main responsibilities are:

* Keeping an eye on the property and general security

* Monitoring the off-grid power and water systems

* Operating pumps and transferring water when required

* Keeping firewood organised and available

* Basic care and observation of the property

* Keeping an eye on fruit trees and gardens and watering where required

* Maintaining a clean and tidy living environment

* Dealing sensibly with any minor issues that arise

None of this is particularly difficult, but **practical common sense is important**.

Experience with rural properties, farms, off-grid systems, machinery, pumps or general property maintenance would be highly regarded.

### WHO I'M LOOKING FOR###

A mature, trustworthy and self-sufficient **single person or couple** who will treat the property as though it were their own.

You need to be comfortable with rural isolation and genuinely enjoy living amongst nature.

I'm particularly looking for people who are:

**Reliable • practical • clean • respectful • good communicators • environmentally conscious • peaceful and independent**

This isn't a party property. **No drugs, smoking or people bringing chaos or drama with them.**

I'm very relaxed by nature, but I take pride in this place and I'm looking for someone who will do the same.

There is plenty of room to breathe out here. If you enjoy forests, rivers, wildlife, fresh air, fires at night and the simplicity of rural life, you'll probably love it.
