Our fur baby is a 4-year old Jack Russell called Juno. She will wake you up to ask for breakfast after waking up, then expects a short walk around the block (about 10 minutes) for her morning toilet. Most of the day she is just taking it easy in the house or in the yard, lightly grazing on her bowl of food. In the afternoon she likes a longer walk (at least an hour) and is such a playful walk companion. We live near a lot of parks and walking trails so Juno plays with the other dogs at the parks. People in the area are very friendly and get known as the owner of the dog. Example: owner of Hasty the Westie, or owner of Sundae the Beagle, etc. Our house is about 19 km from Melbourne CBD. The train station is a 13- minute walk. Close by (10-min walk) is the local shopping plaza with cinemas, restaurants, shops, Watermark and fitness facilities. We have a garden in both the front and backyard, but these need watering only on very hot days (takes about 20 minutes). We are flexible with the dates. You may arrive at our house a day or two earlier so you and Juno get to know each other. We have been hosting international students and au pairs and greatly enjoy the human connection that these arrangements foster. We are new to housesitters but are willing to be accommodating so we can come to an arrangement that is mutually beneficial.
