We require an animal lover with lots of experience with guinea pigs to look after my dozen furry babies for a week while we are away. I am involved with guinea pig rescue and also run a small animal boarding service over school holidays, so even after returning other people piggies I still have a dozen of my own that need daily attention. Sitter must genuinely love the little guys and take the time to feed them every morning and evening, check their water bottles and change the beds every couple of days. This takes about an hour every day. The cages are set up in the garage under the house and its all pretty straight forward however I need to be confident that the Sitter can recognise a sick guinea pig if one of my old boys falls ill, and be willing to take down the road to my local vet if necessary. While this is unlikely, anyone experienced with guinea pigs knows that they are rather delicate little animals that can suddenly present unwell seemingly out of nowhere! especially when they are getting on in age. We have no other pets or requirements and you may bring your own pets to our home if necessary as the back yard is fully secured. We have a quiet and comfortable home with pool and lovely views, located close to forest walks and mountain bike trails, and less than half an hour drive to Bayside beaches and Island Ferries, or down the highway to the theme parks. A short drive to large shopping centre (Logan Hyperdome) with restaurants and cinemas. Dates are flexible by a day at each end and an early arrival or late departure is welcome.
