House sit WINMALEE

Our home is set in a quiet street with peaceful surroundings of native trees, birds and other wildlife. We have a front verandah facing north east and west, with outdoor furniture making it a beautiful space to relax wherever you seek some winter sunshine over a cuppa or meal. At the rear there’s a covered deck facing south, very private and peaceful however we don’t tend to use that space during colder months, preferring the sunshine at front. That said, on warmer days the back deck is the place to hang out and chill.

We have no pets to care for but require someone to keep our yard and garden maintained. Our yard is small, comprising mostly natives, needing occasional watering and keeping on top of weeds. Lawn needs mowing, approximately fortnightly, which is very small area.

Some of the things to note is we occasionally have power outages (safety switch trip) requiring our housesitter to very easily reset. Electrician is unable to resolve this quirk. Also to note, mobile reception in our street is not reliable, and we use wifi calling when at home. Should there be a power outage due to storm etc, then that is one challenge to be prepared for, managed by driving or walking the 800m up to the shopping centre.

Our house is at the base of a steep hill opposite a little park. We have stairs to access the house, with main living area and kitchen downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. There’s a bathroom on each floor. Given the limited public transport (Winmalee high school is our nearest bus stop) housesitters would ideally need a car to get around. Our car will not be available for use.

There’s the very convenient local supermarket up the street, and both Richmond and Springwood are pleasant towns to visit for other shopping needs. For more serious shopping needs, Penrith is about a 40 minute drive.
