Assignment Requirements

Our home is a rambling old farmhouse on 500 acres. There's rolling hills, birdlife, cows and a few distant neighbours. The land is very peaceful and there's minimal traffic on the road. We have a sweet old geriatric cat with feline renal disease who requires some special care (daily medication in her meals and easy to administer subcutaneous fluids every few days). She's a bit of a fussy eater but loves warmth and company. There's a small veggie garden and some pot plants to water.

A car is essential as it's a 30 minute drive to shops. The house is midway between the towns of Maleny and Woodford. We love the quiet of living here and go walking daily on the property or on nearby walking trails. Maleny is on the heart of the tourist trail of the Sunshine Coast and there's lots of natural beauty, rock pools, art galleries and good food available to explore locally. Also the fantastic Woodford Folk Festival is on between Christmas and New Year and day trips there would be a blast.

About the Area

Bellthorpe Brisbane, Queensland
Suburb Insights
Living in Bellthorpe requires embracing a slower, forest-centric rhythm. Your mornings will likely revolve around the mist rolling through the tall gums and the quiet companionship of the resident dogs. Long walks along the local trails or exploring the shaded lanes around the property offer plenty of mental space while you settle into the routine of pet care. Most days are defined by stillness, making it an ideal setting for those who enjoy reading by a fire or watching birdlife from a deck. Weekends provide a shift toward the local amenities tucked within the hinterland. You might drive a short distance to find artisanal coffee in nearby valleys or browse produce at a local farmers market. The nearby rainforest reserves offer rugged hiking routes that serve as a great way to tire out an active pet before heading home. While the area feels isolated, the connection to nearby mountain towns ensures you can find a meal or supplies without much effort.
