Welcome to
The House Sitters

Australia's original and best house sitting company. Finding reliable housesitters is easy with us, and completely free! For over 30 years we have been helping home owners find reliable housesitters to care for their home and pets while they are away for work or holidays.

We are proud to have been Australia's first house sitting agency in 1993, the world’s first FREE house sitting service in 1996, the Australia’s first house sitting website in 1998, and launched the world’s first international house sitting company in 2001.

32 years on and we are still striving to find ways to make it easier and safer for home owners to find the right house sitters. We provide a simplified, smarter system designed to save everyone time and money. A system that makes it easy for home owners to find the perfect sitters.

To find the right house sitter, simply enter the details of your house sit. We will then contact all the sitters servicing your region with your proposed dates, your pet care requirements and suburb you live in. If they are keen to look after your home, they will send you an introduction message through our system.

We take your privacy and security very seriously. We do not provide your contact details, names or address to our house sitters. If house sitters are interested in your assignment, they will send you an introduction message via our secure systems. You can then view their private profile, contact details and references. Simply choose who you contact for further discussions.

Why are we so pet focused?

We know house sitting is all about pets. The reason the vast majority of our home owners get a house sitter is to get the best in care for their pets. We are also just mad about pets.

Why don’t we have browsable house sitter profiles?

We’ve been doing this a long time and have found that browsing house sitter profiles actually make it harder to find the right house sitter. The most experienced house sitters have lots of bookings, are listed on multiple sites, and often struggle to keep their profiles updated. This means wasted days contacting and waiting for replies from people who are unlikely to be available.

Want to do some house sitting?

We charge house sitters $60.00 a year for an unlimited membership. This fee includes optional free ID Checks for all adults in your family. You are welcome to list as many areas of the country as you like. You are welcome to contact as many home owners as you like via our secure messaging system. Our simplified systems also save you time when organising house sits.
