We have a small, fourteen year old dog, part Chihuahua and part fox terrier, with cataracts in both eyes but who is not completely blind. She is a little deaf, so we capture her attention by clapping our hands. Despite this, she is very active and loves to go for walks. Although she lives indoors, she also enjoys being outside for short periods of time, especially if someone is outside with her. We usually feed her mornings and evenings and ensure she has several opportunities each day to go outside for toileting. We pick up her poo and put it in our bin, which also keeps the neighbours happy. We also pet her regularly, even though she no longer likes to sit on our laps.
