Requirements

First and most importantly is the cat, Ducati (the red purrer), he's somewhere around 15 years old and that's in people years. A little stand-offish at first and does like to be outside quite a lot, mostly to be found sleeping under a bush, but he does love to be inside in the evenings especially if there's a fire burning. The nights are chilly in these months. I have a lovely new wood-burning heater which makes it cosy. I will of course pay for Ducati's food. He will not like to share with any other creatures, unfortunately.

The house is old, and not so swish. It has character. There are 3 bedrooms, one of which will be unavailable (mine). Plenty of living space, open and comfortable. I will endeavour to have some of my excess 'stuff' packed away in my room.

The garden won't need too much attention in these months with the exception of weeding... but feel free to do anything if you are so inspired, like pruning etc. There is no lawn to bother about. I'll leave the contact details for a good chap who can come and do any heavier garden tasks that might crop up, and I will pay him on my return.

The town is very small but across the road is the general store for paper milk bread coffee etc. There is also the 'rural agencies' that sells petrol and many other useful bit and bobs (if you're a farmer). And a pub which is about to change owner, so I can't yet recommend the food as it's an unknown. The Curramulka Hotel has had a great reputation so we're hoping this will continue to be the case.

I have very quiet neighbours on one side, and none on the other. The community is friendly and sporty. There's a teeny tiny farmer's market once a month on the 1st Sunday morning of the month. There's a golf course of course. The nearest bigger town is Minlaton, with supermarket and a variety of businesses, including a great bakery.

The sea is 20 minutes aways on either side. To the west is Port Rickaby, lovely beach walk there and you can get an ice-cream at the end. It has a good jetty for fishing too. To the east is the holiday township of Port Vincent, with a very attractive and safe beach, cafes, hotel, plenty of other stuff, great nature walk.

These are just the 2 closest beaches but there is an embarrassment of fabulous coastline on Yorke Peninsula, not forgetting the 'Bottom end' where the brilliant Innes National Park sits with it's spectacular views to islands, shipwrecks, surf beaches etc. A lot to explore.

Back to my house, it's called Meanwhile... It's so lovely and quiet, if you wanted to write, this'd be the place. I do have a good telly too for distraction and entertainment. The internet is good - broadband from a tower. I will pay this, and provide the wifi password. The cooking and hot water is gas (bottles), you won't run out. So the electricity bill is usually quite low, I will be asking for you to contribute towards this - we can work it out at the end. Oh and please be a non-smoker.

I'm happy to negotiate and try to fit in with your requirements too.

I hope this sounds appealing and I look forward to hearing from you.
