Welcome to our piece of paradise on the edge of the Grampians National Park. 60 acres of tranquil silence, a small comfortable house with amazing views.

This beautiful location and peace and tranquility does have some down (or up) sides depending on the person which we would like to mention before you continue reading.

We are located 45 kms from the nearest towns (Horsham and Stawell) and 35 kms to Halls Gap. You must have a reliable car as these are the closest amenities.

You will only have phone reception with Telstra. We do not have a home phone. Our internet is very reliable satellite internet which we have 60GB per month.

Our house is not connected to the main power grid. Please do not be too scared about this fact. We have a large solar system with battery back up. We live a totally normal life, we just have fewer appliances (we still have coffee machine, fridge, freezer and two TV's) the only things you really cannot use would be an electric blanket, but we'll provide you with yummy flanellette sheets and a beautiful wood fire (cut wood will be supplied) and other heating appliances such as a slow cooker etc. If this is your only worry please message us with your concerns. We also have a back up generator if we do end up having more than 3 days of no sun.

Cooking is with LPG and we only have tank water so you will have to have conservative showers.

Now for the nice bits! your companions will be two 80kg Great Danes who live inside. Anyone who has ever crossed paths with a Dane will know that they are just big soft babies who love nothing more than sleeping and cuddling! They are 6 years old now so are really slowing down. we are purely looking for someone to housesit so our boys can stay at home. Great Danes are big sooky dogs and need to be around people. They are inside when we are home (they are fine outside all day if you go out) they sleep inside. They cannot be left outside overnight.

They require feeding twice per day- you will have to boil rice every two days as part of their meal.

They have a large yard so do not need walking but they appreciate a walk to the mailbox when possible. Having two dogs inside can create a bit of mess, they do drop a lot of hair and bring dirt in so you will need to sweep/ vacuum every couple of days.

There are also 10 chooks who require seed and water everyday, but they will repay you with delicious eggs. We have 5 ewes who will have recently lambed a beautiful friendly Highland bull who'll come up to the fence for his daily feed of greens (optional) but otherwise the farm animals require no care.

We are surrounded daily by beautiful wildlife such as kangaroos, emus, lizards, cockatoos, rosellas and many other birds and located on the edge of the Grampians National Park, close to hiking, olive farms and rock climbing spots. Hopefully this will keep you entertained as there is no television reception, we do though have a large range of DVD's.

If you are still reading then this is definitely the place for you! This will be the 6th time we have been away and used Housesitter's and we have been lucky to have such wonderful people look after our home and share our love for this beautiful place.

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. Jess.
