My home is in the beautiful coastal and fishing village of Bermagui on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. Distance from major cities by road is - Canberra 3 hrs; Sydney 7 hrs; Melbourne 8-9 hrs; Wollongong 3-4 hrs.

Bermagui is well known to recreational deep sea fishing and boating people. We have some of the most fabulous beaches, national parks and delights of rural living such as local markets, boutique shopping and tourist attractions within each reach. To really enjoy this area and live here, you would need your own car.

My home is 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with separate toilet, a studio work office type room, large open plan kitchen, dining and living area and sunny NE facing back very private deck. The main shopping area of town and the Fisherman's Cooperative and Harbor side is within easy walking distance. Bermagui has its own Woolworth supermarket, pub and several liquor outlets, a community club, very active community library and hub, medical practices, vet, petrol stations, golf course.

My garden is small and very easy to care for. My back deck contains lots of potted plants which require probably weekly watering, but that is seasonal.

I want a house sitter, not only to care for my home, (keep lawns mowed, plants watered etc) and make it obvious that it is not unoccupied while I am away (although security is most definitely NOT a problem here), but mostly to love and care for my little dog.

Beau is a rescue dog that has been living with me now for just 5 months. He is a very loving and easy going little chap, but does have some issues left over as a product of the very poor start he had for his first 4 and a half years. He is a Chihuahua/Pomeranian cross and weighs just 5 kgs. He is quite an active dog and does require a daily walk or run on one of our beautiful beaches or around the town. He was not socialised properly as a young dog so still tends to get quite excited and noisy when he hears other dogs in the neighborhood barking, and is not used to having lots of people around him or in his home.

He and I live alone, and he LOVES his home (having spent his early years in a cage in a back yard).

I am working constantly on his socialisation giving him increased exposure to other people in his home, my grandchildren and family, walks through crowds and on beaches with lots of other dogs; and because he is very intelligent and loving, he is improving quickly.

I am somewhat nervous about leaving for this period because it will be the first time he and I have been apart, but I truly feel that with the right person (or persons) taking care of him, he will be absolutely fine.
