Requirements

I need to travel overseas from June 28 to July 8, and am looking for a housesitter to stay at my place and look after my young border collie, Ziggy. Ziggy needs at least one walk per day, but apart from that, he is fairly low maintenance. He is an easy-going dog with a lovely personality - I'm sure you would like him. Winter dog walks in the pine forest a few minutes from town are one of the pleasures of Armidale life.

The house is a 1930s workers cottage with a modern extension at the back. The house is in good condition, and it is warm and cosy in Armidale's cold winters. However, the back deck is out of bounds at present as the balustrade needs repair.

The house is located in a lovely, safe, quiet neighbourhood of Armidale, NSW. We are just a few doors from the New England Regional Art Museum which houses the famous Hinton collection (and also has a very good cafe). The Aboriginal Keeping Place is also very close. There is a lot of open space nearby, great if you like to jog, and close to the Armidale Community Garden. We are surrounded by magnificent National Parks within half an hour's drive from Armidale.

It is a 15-minute walk to town or to the train station and there are regular buses (every 2 hours) from town to the university.
