Requirements

We have a modern, one-bedroom apartment in the residential section of the Adara hotel, right in the heart of Richmond. The apartment has all the creature comforts you need with ducted a/c, dishwasher, 4K 49” TV (we’ll even leave our Netflix & Stan signed in for your stay!), NBN internet (the good one i.e. fibre to the building with 50mbps download speed) a king-sized bed and an outdoor lounge/dining on the balcony. Your car will be safe and secure with basement parking requiring clicker access – please note there is a 1.8m clearance and the space is against the wall so will suit a small to medium sized car.

There is a tram stop less than 200m away with two tram lines running through it with a further 4 tram lines within 1km walking distance. The closest train station (West Richmond) is 450m away (close enough to walk but far enough you don’t hear anything) with 2 train lines running through it – Richmond train station is a little further away but still walking distance at around 1km away and well worth it with 8 train lines running through it.

Being just off Bridge Rd, there is plenty of restaurants, bars and outlet stores right around the corner. If you’re interested in more shopping, you can walk down to the Swan St or stroll down to Church St and jump on a tram straight to the famous Chapel St strip. There’s plenty of restaurants and bars along here too! If there’s nothing that interests you here though, you can walk (1.2km) into the city or jump on any of the nearby tram/trains and explore the CBD.

As for what we need and when we need it, there isn’t much too it. We are heading off the morning of 23rd December and will be arriving home the evening of 29th December. There is very minimal home maintenance needed although regularly running the dishwasher through and a quick run through with the Dyson stick vacuum a couple of times in the week will be greatly appreciated. We have a 12-year-old cat (Tigger) who requires tablet and oil medication administered orally two times daily as well as twice daily feeding. He had a stroke 2 years ago now so is very accustomed to being medicated and although a little wobbly at times (it’s kind of cute to see him accidentally bump into the wall when he tries to run too fast!) he’s completely independent and requires nil assistance in the home. He is very lazy these days and mostly just sleeps so requires minimal care – he isn’t great with kids though these days, he’s too old and feels crowded by them, he’s an absolute sook with adults though. We will change the kitty litter before we go so it will just need the occasional refresh – not just for our sake but for yours!

We also understand you may have your own Christmas plans – maybe you’re meeting family down here and that’s why you need a holiday stay – so on days like Christmas day, we are happy for you to administer a double dose of medication/food in the morning so that you don’t have to rush back that night and risk being over when you drive back. The medication has a long half life so he will be fine, we just prefer on other days to have his medication administered twice daily for his comfort as the larger dose knocks him around a bit and leaves him a bit zonked – fine as a once off but not much fun every day!

That’s probably enough from me! I’ll pop up some photos of the apartment and Tigger this afternoon. If the job interests you, please get in touch and hopefully we can arrange a meet/skype call and sought something out.

Thanks,

Jess & Nick
