We are looking for someone to house sit our 1 bedroom, 1 bath bungalow in Scamander Tasmania. A great little house in a great little town on the iconic Great Eastern Drive. We also have 2 little dogs to keep you company from July 12-20 and August 10-Sept 16. We will be back in between and bring them down to Hobart for a few days/ and stay with them in the other house on the beach property.

Our little bungalow is close to the beach. You’ll love spending time here because of the location, the outdoor space, and the ambiance. Suitable for couples and solo adventurers.

The bungalow is situated on a beautiful beach front block and nests behind the main house. You are welcome to share our beautiful garden, swing in the hammock, and pick a lemon or vase full of flowers.

You will have complete and private access to the bungalow including a wonderful front porch complete with BBQ and backyard outdoor shower.

The town:

Scamander is a coastal town with wide sandy beaches, riverside retreats, nature reserves and fishing hot spots. Located between St Helens and St Marys on the banks of the Scamander River, this seaside spot is popular with locals and visiting leisure-seekers alike.

With it’s iconic bridge over the Scamander River, Scamander is home to many a local and shack owner. With top surf breaks and perfect swimming holes, Scamander’s beach is a favourite all year round and the home of the local surf life saving club.

Upper Scamander is home to the well loved Eureka Farm – a paradise of berry bushes and fruit trees. Visit their farm gate cafe and sample preserves, chutneys, jams, icecreams, cakes and more, all made from their own produce.

Boasting a supermarket, post office, service station, golf club, hotel, two caravan parks, surf shop, surf life saving club and general store, Scamander is a well serviced town known for it’s easily accessible beach and river mouth. The Scamander River is popular amongst anglers with great fishing spots dotted along the shores.
