Hi - I am looking for some a very special person or people to come and take care of my small and precious, hobby farm with 36 ducks and 2 horses, while I complete a residential school at a University. This will be the first of four trips over the next two years.

All the animals require feeding twice per day. The ducks need their little pools emptied and refilled with clean water and every couple of days they need their coops 'refreshed' with new bedding and wood shavings. As there are seven coops, when I am home, I also let them out to 'free range' around the property 'in turns'. And most importantly, any of my 'girls' who are laying, you need to collect their eggs - I really don't need any more ducklings this year!!

The horses - one is a senior gentleman and the other is a lass. They just need to have their lucerne biscuit in the morning and then some horse pellets at night. Most importantly they need their water supply filled up on a daily basis.

All of my animals are used 'to being spoken with'. They are my companions. If you feel 'funny' actually talking to animals, this is not the house for you. My lot, expect you to continually ask them how they, tell them how good they / they look and generally make pleasant conversation in 'animal speak' (so I hope you can make accurate whinney and quacking sounds??)

Where I live is incredibly beautiful and very relaxing. My house is approximately 1.5 hours from Brisbane, only 45 minutes from the Gold Coast and 8 minutes from the local township of Canungra. But when you are here, it feels like you are miles from anywhere. The closest neighbour is at least 1 acre away. There is an outdoor spa (which can be heated), there is Foxtel, there is a BBQ, there will be room in the carport for your car while I am away. I live in a modest but very comfortable house with tank water, gas for cooking (don't worry both will be filled before you arrive) and electricity for lights and pumps. There is very little mobile phone reception but I can make the Internet available for you and that will give you wifi on your phone too.

No garden care is 'required' but if you are an avid gardener - you are welcome to 'potter' in the garden.

Due to the careful balance of animals here I would prefer any potential house-sitter/s to be child and animal free themselves.
